Eating
There are many different types of eateries to be found on the island of Corfu. The local Corfuians enjoy their food with Sunday dinner times being a family affair sometimes lasting a few hours. Corfuians do not like to rush meal times so when visiting one of the local Tavernas, do not expect a quick service. Sometimes food will not be delivered in the same order it was placed. The best way to enjoy the experience is to sit back and relax and take your time savoring the food. By law, menus in Corfu must be written in English as well as Greek which can produce some rather amusing translation issues.
Greek establishments vary greatly with many locals prefering to visit Tavernas offering fresh local produce. A large prtion of any menu is fish which can be expensive but is definitely worth sampling. There are also many pizza houses on the Island due to the islands Italian influences, most also offer traditional Greek food.
Budget: Ippocampus - Perfect for families, this restaurant is located on the corner of Kapodistriou and Arseniou streets. Try this for a relaxed atmosphere with some down to earth greek cuisine.
Mid-Range: Art Cafe - A firm favorite with youngsters of Corfu you will find this cafe set in the gardens behind the palace. Perfect for a relaxing coffee or pastry in the sunshine.
Luxury: Restaurant Rex - Located at Kapodistriou 66 in Corfu, this restaurant is known as being one of the best on the island. Can be a bit pricey, but definitely worth spending for some fantastic Greek specialties.

- The tiny Island of Pontikonisi which is coered with Mediterranean vegetation and an ancient Bzanthine church.
- Corfu's highest point - Mount Pantokrator which has some fantastic views from the top.
