Almeria City Guide

Eating

Budget: La Bodeguilla de Ramón, Almeria City
A hole-in-the-wall tapas bar with plastic chairs and tables outside, cheap but cheerful.
Mid-range: Casa Puga, Almeria City
One of Almeria’s classic tapas bars. Stand by the counter with the regulars or take a table at the side beneath dangling hams and wines racked upside down (the wine list is amazing). The bar has been under the ownership of the same family since 1870!
Luxury: Restaurante Valentin, Almeria City
There are a number of good tapas bars/restuarants in this street (C/Tenor Iribarne 19). This classy place specialises in seafood and has an excellent menú degustación at €24.

Drinking

Almeria has a selection of small bars on offer. For more lively drinking venues head for the Mojácar playa area where you can find themed and British bars.
