Playas de las Canteras is Gran Canaria’s first ever tourist resort complete with many shops, bars, restaurants, hotels and of course one of Spain’s best urban beaches; of which the region takes its name.

The 4km of beach is surrounded by attractive rock and sandstone which protects it from the powerful Atlantic Ocean. It is known for its warm and inviting waters and as a beautiful place to watch the sun come down. In fact Playa de las Canteras is so good it has been awarded the EU Blue Flag for excellent facilities and services. Auditorio Alfredo Kraus

The more relaxed holidaymaker will enjoy a stroll along the promenade to the grand but modern home to the Las Palmas Philharmonic Orchestra the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus which was built as a tribute to the Canaries own famous tenor Alfredo Klaus.
