Glasgow Travel Guide
Public Transport
Glasgow has an extensive public transport network which is made up of trains, buses and an Underground network. Bus stops can be found throughout the city. Prices are very variable depending on which bus company you use; however £1.20 should be enough to get to almost anywhere within the city centre.
The Underground network is by far the quickest and most convenient way to get between the West End or South Side of Glasgow, and the city centre. There are a total of 15 stops around the city centre, west end and south side of the city.
After arriving on cheap flights to Glasgow visitors will also find an abundance of taxis available.
There are a number of large multi-storey car parks in Glasgow city centre for anyone wishing to hire a car and make their own way around. Although, we recommend making the most of the public transport whilst on holiday.
To and From the Airport
After arriving on a cheap flight to Glasgow there are a number of transport options available to get you from the airport and to your hotel. The most common to use are taxis and buses, which are regular and cheap.
Outside of the airport there is a purpose-built pick-up and drop-off point for taxis. These are in regular supply so you shouldn't be waiting long. The journey typically takes 20 minutes so it shouldn't be that expensive.
There is a train service that is roughly one mile from the airport. This is called Paisley Gilmour Street and offers eight trains an hour to the centre of Glasgow (five per hour on Sundays).
