Budget:The Captain's Table, Zygi - Take a short drive out of the centre of Larnaca to the village of Zygi. Here you will find many cheap fish restaurants each one frequented by locals. One of the best and more expensive fish restaurants in the village is The Captains Table which offers some amazingly fresh fish dishes as well as a truly tranquil atmosphere located right by the sea front. Drinking

Just off the main promenade, you will find the region of Laiki Yeitonia which plays host to a handful of bars and nightclubs with Memphis and Scaliano being two of the most popular with visitors to Cyprus. Larnaca offers everything you will need for an exciting night out on the tiles however, if you would prefer something a little more upmarket the visit the strip on the Larnaca-Dhekelia Road where you will find some quality hotels, bars and nightclubs.

Things To See And Do

- The Salt Lake - visit during the summer to see a vast salt bed and during the winter to witness the 1000's of pink flamingos that gather on the water.
- Palm Trees Promenade - one of the most attractive parts of the city, this promenade is a fantastic location for a brisk morning walking followed by a hearty breakfast in one of the many fabulous cafes.
- St Lazarus Church - said to be built around the tomb of the biblical character Lazarus, Mary's brother, the church of Lazarus is well worth a visit whilst in Larnaca.
- The Kamares Aqueduct - built in 1746 to provide a source of water for the town of Larnaca, this beautiful aqueduct has 33 arches and is a truly inspiring site.

Shopping

You will find everything you will possibly need in Larnaca as well as cheap antiques, leather goods and jewellery. Keep your eyes open for quiet back streets where small specialist shops can be found.
