Top 10 Things to do Whilst on Holiday in Murcia
10) Catamaran Cruiser...
The best way to discover neighbouring Cartagena is by taking a Catamaran boat trip around the harbour. From the sea you'll see many of Murcia's sights including historic forts and hilltop castles. Boat rides depart from the Quayside daily.
9) Go Karting...
It's much less quiet than a day at the beach but Mar Menor Go Karts is a fun day out that can be enjoyed by all ages. There's a trackside cafe if you prefer to sit back and watch with a cold drink in your hand. You'll find it close to San Javier Murcia Airport heading towards Los Alcazares.
8) Cathedral of Santa Maria...
This building is the jewel in Murcia's architectural crown. The impressive baroque facade is best viewed from one of the many al fresco cafes in Plaza Del Cardenal Belluga.
7) Mud glorious mud...
For a day of pampering and exquisite self-indulgence visit the brand new Spa at San Pedro del Pinar. Relaxing treatments and massages range from hydrotherapy to physiotherapy. Heaven sent!
6) Terra Natura Theme Park...
Situated just north of Murcia, Terra Natura houses an impressive Safari Park and a recently built Water Park with over 700 metres of water slides. The safari park is divided into continents and features lions, bears, elephants and many more. A great day out for the whole family!
5) Sunset drive along La Manga's Strip...
On the far side of the Mar Menor you'll find the busy La Manga Strip with a beautiful stretch of coastland with blue flag beaches on each side. The sunrises over the Mediterranean side can be spectacular and the sunsets over the quieter Mar Menor are simply stunning.
4) Rumba on the Chiva bus...
Combine sightseeing and partying on the Chiva bus. This lively guided-tour shows you the sights of Cartagena while there's singing, dancing and live music going on. The bar's always open on the Chiva bus and if there's anything left in the tank by the end of the night you can carry on partying the night away at the 'La Escollera' nightspot.
3) Aquapolis Fun Park...
A great way to cool off in the sunshine with many water slides and play areas making this a fun-filled day out for all the family. The park opens from June-September annually.
2) Golfers Paradise...
Murcia is home to the world-famous La Manga Golf Club, which has been voted Europe's top golf resort many times over with its three championship courses. Many international tournaments have been played here not to mention celebrity golfing events. So make sure you're wearing your golfer's socks - the pair with a hole in one. That's always been a terrible joke!
1) Terra Mitica Theme Park...
This excellent theme park is well worth the short drive to neighbouring Benidorm. Expect stomach churning roller coaster rides and plenty of white knuckle rides to keep thrill seekers entertained as well as more sedate boat rides and bumper cars. There are some great rides for children too.
