Frances Tuke, spokesperson for The Travel Association (ABTA), said that people who book their getaway early will then have the feeling of "sunticipation" which will encourage them to work more productively in the office before they jet off.
She noted that Britons have the highest number of working hours in the whole of Europe.
"As a result of that people need holidays to take a break from the pressure but also spend valuable time with their loved ones and families which they would not be able to do in a normal working week," Ms Tuke explained.
