British golf enthusiasts may wish to use this summer to score a few eagles while they soak up the sun in style by booking cheap flights to Spain.
According to the UK publication Today's Golfer, Spain is the most popular destination in Europe for the sporting activity in "a country mile" and has some of the best courses going.
Destinations such as Malaga and La Manga are particularly popular with golfers and with the country being so close there are often some great deals to be had, the resource continues.
And it is not just golf enthusiasts who will find themselves having a hole in one of a holiday when they visit Spain.
Research by Skyscanner has revealed that Malaga, Alicante and Tenerife are among the top ten most searched for destinations to escape to in 2009.
And travel editor of the Independent Simon Calder has said: "Spain is going to retain its position as our absolute favourite country."
