Snowboarding enthusiasts may be wise to spend some time in the Alps, it has been asserted.
Winter sports blog Homeboy reports an interview with snowboarder Anniina Karvinen, who explains that the Alps and Lapland are the two main regions in which to practise the sport.
She adds that getting in some time on the slopes can help to perfect the skills of anyone, even if they did not grow up in a mountainous region.
Her comments could have travellers looking to the Alps, with cheap flights to Geneva a potential way of reaching the area.
Potential professionals are told not to lose heart if they fail to master the sport immediately.
Ms Karvinen explains: "Some seasons you are good, but the next year your riding can suck."
Cheap flights to Geneva could be growing in popularity, as the airport reported earlier this year that it served more than six million passengers in the first half of 2008.
