Golf enthusiasts may be quick to book cheap flights to Cyprus in order to notch up their hole in ones, eagles and birdies under the blazing sun.
Officials on the island have proposed plans for 14 brand spanking new golf courses, with license applications expected to be put to the Council of Ministers this month.
And Britons who cannot wait to have a game on the new green had better get their skates on if they wish to be among the first to try the new courses out, as the development will benefit the whole island.
Paul Collins, property editor at BuyAssociation.co.uk, said: "There have always been golf courses in Cyprus and it has always been a popular reason for people going over there.
"There has never been a huge amount, but there has always been some and some are of a very high standard."
