The largest of the Canary Islands is changing and holidaymakers who book cheap flights to Tenerife can now expect to find record-breaking water parks, first-rate hotels and an ocean filled with dolphins off the sun filled beaches, one sector commentator has claimed.
Writing on the online pages of the News of the World, Keith Gladdis explained that the popular getaway spot still has hundreds of bars and nightclubs for young single travellers to visit but was also now becoming a fashionable family favourite.
"Everything that was already good about Tenerife is still there ... Chief among this Spanish island's attractions is the year-round warmth," he explained.
Mr Gladdis added that it was also a convenient holiday destination as it was only a four-hour flight from the UK and that some two million Brits flew out there each year.
And he added that families should enjoy the opportunity to do a little wildlife spotting, as more than 27 species of dolphin, porpoise and whale had been seen in Tenerife's waters.
The Independent's Ben Ross recently shared his family holiday experience on the island, which involved him and his sons exploring Tenerife's huge volcano - Teide.
