Britons planning on booking cheap ski flights in order to catch the end of the winter sports season have been offered a number of tips to improve their time on the slopes from one of the best downhill skiers in history.
In an interview with the Guardian, Franz Klammer - who won a gold medal at the 1976 Winter Olympics - said he thought a good skier was a person who could control their speed from the top to the bottom of the slope.
And Mr Klammer, who now works as an ambassador for the Austrian tourist board and as a motivational speaker for ski manufacturer Head, added: "Stay on your toes, not on your heels - if you can do that, you will do fine."
He also recommended working out or going for a bike ride in order to be in top physical condition before skiing.
Mr Klammer has won 25 World Cup downhills during his skiing career.
