Businesses cannot stop all their travel plans to be more eco-friendly, one expert has claimed, which may interest companies looking to book cheap winter flights.
Margaret Hansen, global procurement director of corporate travel at AT Kearney, said that companies now operated within a global economy which meant that they were unlikely not to travel.
"It is about being aware of it, owning it and doing the best that we can, encouraging the suppliers we do business with to make better use of energy, efficiency and resources," she explained.
Ms Hansen went on to ask where businesses would be without airlines to carry corporate travellers around the world and she added that as a result they should have companies' support.
Meanwhile, according to a survey by ACTE - KDS, while they are still flying 28 per cent of corporate travel departments report to management on carbon emissions performance.
