Britons considering booking cheap flights to Paris have been advised that 2009 is a good time to go.
Writing for the Telegraph, Nick Trend said that the cost of staying in hotels and cottages in the north of France would still be "roughly on a par" with UK prices, as would dining out in the country's restaurants.
He added that this year was also a good time to consider a beach holiday on the north coast of Normandy or Brittany, destinations which looked to offer the best deals to families this summer.
Mr Trend also stated that March would be a good month to look into booking a ski trip in the French Alps before the school holidays begin.
He noted that cold weather and heavy snowfalls had resulted in a "near-perfect base" for the rest of the ski season.
And the Independent's Sankha Guha recently dated that a holiday in the romantic city of Paris would make anyone "feel like a love god".
