Brits planning on booking cheap flights to Tenerife can expect to be thrown into a carnival atmosphere once they touch down on the Canary Island.
On a recent trip there, the Mirror's Iain Mayhew said that the annual Tenerife carnival - one of the biggest in Europe - was in full swing.
And he noted that Britons were lapping up the celebrations, with many "big, butch" men taking to the streets of Santa Cruz dressed in fishnet tights and dancing among the "most beautiful women you've ever seen".
"For more than a week, this lovely old Spanish colonial city just doesn't seem to want to go to bed," Mr Mayhew explained.
And even when it is not carnival time, Tenerife has plenty on offer for tourists and is an island that is showing signs of changing.
The News of the World's Keith Gladdis recently stated that Tenerife still has hundreds of bars and nightclubs for young single travellers to visit but was also now becoming a fashionable family favourite.
