Golf fans who have booked cheap flights to Spain will find the country has more to offer them than just a day on the green, according to one golfer.
In an article for World Golf, Brandon Tucker said that on reaching the Costa del Sol, the clouds parted and the sun shone down just as he was at the vantage point at the Gran Flamingo Golf Club.
"[The course] overlooks the Mediterranean and you can see not only the Rock of Gibraltar but even hazy Morocco in the distance. It's a captivating, albeit intimidating elevated tee shot," he explained.
However, Mr Tucker asserted that the good news about Spain was that it had plenty more to offer, notably the tapas and wine.
Following his first full day in the Costa del Sol, he noted that he would be going to bed "fat, drunk and gastronomically enlightened".
Today's Golfer recently reported that Spain is the most popular destination in Europe for golf by "a country mile" and has some of the best courses going.
