The Easter week - Santa Semana - is widely celebrated in Spain and tourists hoping to catch a glimpse of the events have a number of options open to them.
Cities and towns across the country have their own celebrations and parades in honour of the religious festival - and the sights and sounds of the events present a true spectacle for tourists.
Processions pass through the streets of a number of different cities, including Seville, Alicante and Malaga.
Indeed, Seville has been holding its Easter week celebrations since the 16th century which are now internationally famous.
Each parade is full of Spanish traditions and is not a solemn affair. They can be full of flamenco singers and dancers, although the songs do of course have a Christian tradition.
But the spectacle may appeal to the secular as well as the religious, thanks to the vibrancy and spirit of the events.
