Britons are unlikely to sacrifice their annual holiday on the continent and will continue to book cheap flights to Spain, according to one commentator.

However, UK travellers are increasingly looking towards booking an all-inclusive getaway package, in order to save money by spending little at their destination once they are there.

Sean Tipton, spokesperson for ABTA - The Travel Association, said that hotel owners in Spain are already doing their best to keep their prices down so that the negative effect of the exchange rate has a minimum impact on Britons' purses.

"That is certainly the case with Spain ... they are really trying to keep their prices down," he added.

And Mr Tipton explained that the benefit of the all-inclusive holiday was that it did not matter what the exchange rate was, as tourists were going to spend "hardly anything" when they got there anyway.

Britons could save even more money after booking cheap flights to Spain if they choose to pack their tents.

The Times' Keith Didcock recently compiled a list of the 20 coolest camping grounds in Europe and Spain notched up three positions.
