Barcelona is an ideal destination for holidaymakers travelling on a budget, it has been suggested.
Writing for information resource Knol, Patrick Collins explains that cheap flights to Barcelona and low-cost activities in the city itself combine for an affordable getaway.
Speaking on his own experiences in the Spanish destination, he stresses that "it wasn't necessary to cut costs by sacrificing nutrition or comfort".
He adds that cheap flights to Barcelona are available from a number of European airports.
But anyone arriving from cheap flights to Spain might expect to be presented with a city which is "truly unique, international and culturally alive".
His comments echo those made by rental property firm Barcelona Rentals recently.
The organisation noted the availability of places to stay on an accommodation-only basis in the city.
