Many British travellers have been left stranded in Barcelona after the Spanish airline LTE International Airways suspended its flights, it has been noted.

According to TravelMole, the company said it had not been possible to avoid this situation due to "world events lately".

Now, 100 Brits have been told they will have to make alternative flight arrangements.

The online resource explains that travellers who booked an ATOL-protected package would be able to claim a refund.

Richard Jenner, director of Norwich Airport, said: "We are deeply disappointed at this news, which has come completely out of the blue ... It is too early to say if these flights will be reinstated."

Travellers who were due to fly with LTE International Airways could find that cheap flights to Barcelona with Jet2.com offer them an alternative way to reach the city for a well-earned break.

Meanwhile, Brits may be interested to know that Ryanair has been voted the least popular airline in a recent poll.

The survey, conducted by TripAdvisor, saw the firm being given the questionable title for the third year in a row.
