Britons who book cheap flights to Spain this year may wish to consider living the good life while they are away by buying their own produce.
A spokesperson from the Association of Independent Tour Operators said that many holidaymakers were choosing to keep the cost of their break to a minimum by booking a villa and buying their own fresh, local produce to cook and enjoy.
He added that this was increasingly becoming a "big attraction" to visiting Spain and allowed people to offset the cost of their break, rather than having to sacrifice their trip altogether.
The representative noted that destinations such as Spain and France were still firm favourites and that Britons had been visiting them for 40 or 50 years.
"These places are really on the map since the last ten to 15 years and there is still value to be found in a lot of these places," he noted.
Sean Tipton, spokesperson for ABTA - the Travel Association, recently said that visitors from the UK may still book cheap flights to Spain as they had a special place for the country in their hearts.
