Britons planning to book cheap flights to Corfu for their break this summer could find themselves getting back to nature once they touch down.

In an article for the Guardian, Andrew Duncan, Greece manager at Vintage Travel, states that Halikouna is a "sleepy, unspoilt corner" of Corfu and that its main attraction is Lake Korission.

Nature-loving families may love to spend the day strolling around the lake, in an area which is home to an abundance of wildlife.

Among the animals which may be spotted are turtles, terrapins, butterflies and lizards, while there is also a sandy beach on one side of the lake.

Mr Duncan also recommends exploring the coves dotted around the water and stopping off at the beachfront taverna of Alonaki Bay.

A previous article in the Guardian by Joanne O'Connor stated that Britons loved the island as it offered everything from posh villas to package breaks for young people, which may further convince individuals to book cheap flights to Corfu.
