As the school summer holidays approach, parents may now be looking for ways to keep the boredom at bay and booking cheap flights to Alicante to go on an activity holiday could be the answer.
This was the decision that the Guardian's Ed Douglas made when he whisked his family off on a Spanish holiday with a difference, which saw them scaling a rock face into a deep mountain canyon in Sierra Aitana.

The Douglas family was also able to enjoy mountain biking and kayaking on their break.
Liz Boulter recently revealed to the Guardian that she also enjoyed an activity break in Spain after taking her son with her to celebrate the end of his exams, which may further inspire parents to book cheap flights to Alicante this summer.
