Travellers planning to book cheap flights to Malaga can expect to enjoy more than just the sun, sea and sand on their break.

Writing for the Guardian, Stephen Emms claims that Malaga is still largely overlooked by holidaymakers as they journey towards resorts on the Costa del Sol.

However, he states that the city is "ideal to do on the cheap".

Mr Emms notes that there are hundreds of free attractions, such as museums and galleries, that visitors can choose from.

Two of these are the Picasso Museum and the artist's birthplace, while Mr Emms says that his favourite place to visit was the Centre of Contemporary Art.

He concludes that the "ultimate" cheap activity to participate in when visiting Malaga is to enjoy a drink and watch the sun set over the sea.

And Mr Emms is not alone in his esteem for the Spanish city.

The Daily Telegraph's Natalie Paris recently claimed that it was one of the most underrated cities in Spain, which may further inspire travellers to book cheap flights to Malaga.
