Cheap flights to Spain may prove useful for holidaymakers looking to save money this summer, however, they could also be the ticket to finding a new dream home.
Paul Bradley, spokesperson for the Spanish Property Owners Guild, said that Spanish housing remained popular with property investors but that prices were unlikely to rise for at least three to four years.
His comments were reflected by figures from Primelocation.com, which revealed that Spain accounted for more than 30 per cent of all searches for overseas property on its website in May.
And the Knight Frank Global House Price Index notes that property prices in Spain fell by three per cent in the first quarter of 2009.
Commenting on the news, Mr Bradley said: "[Budget concerns were] in no way deterring the annual determination to escape from the doom and gloom and cold and grey, to enjoy to the full the ever favourite Brit destination for the last 50 years ... Spain."
And travellers may be further inspired to book cheap flights to Spain as Mr Bradley notes that people continue to flood Spanish beaches thanks to the country's "marvellous" climate.
