Gig-goers who love the latest in cutting edge indie and dance music could do well to book cheap flights to Paris this year in order to attend the La Route Du Rock festival.

Taking place from August 14th to 16th in the fortified town of Saint-Malo, the independent event boasts a lineup of some of the biggest names in music, along with some rising stars and hidden gems.

Concerts are held within an 18th century fort and this year's line-up will see The Kills - headed by Kate Moss' boyfriend Jamie Hince - My Bloody Valentine, Scottish indie band Camera Obscura, Four Tet, The Horrors and Simian Mobile Disco take to the stage.

And by extending their trip, holidaymakers could also fit in a visit to La Fleche d'Or to experience some live French music in Paris before they hit the festival.

The Times notes that the music venue offers visitors a "mosh-pit rawness that feels like Berlin" and is also situated close to Pere Lachaise cemetery, where Jim Morrison - lead singer with The Doors - is buried.

All in all, booking cheap flights to Paris could see travellers enjoying a very musical holiday indeed.
