With so many tourist attractions to offer - including the Vatican, Colosseum and even the opportunity to set out on a Dan Brown-style Angels and Demons tour - travellers who have booked cheap flights to Rome may be pleased to hear the fun does not stop at night.

Indeed, having recently been labelled a "unique" city in the Independent, Rome has plenty to offer holidaymakers.

The Times recommends that visitors "follow the hedonistic laughter" at nightfall to the city's parliament buildings where they will discover Salotto 42, "one of the hippest bars in town".

Following this, the newspaper advises holidaymakers to head to Palazzo delle Esposizioni, where the food is prepared by top chef Antonello Colonna and diners can enjoy the eatery's unusual glass roof.

And after having a bite to eat, travellers may wish to take a tour of the city again, as after dark all of the monuments are lit up, allowing them to be appreciated on a new level.

With so much to offer, people may find they need to book more than one set of cheap flights to Rome in order to get their fill.
