Savvy travellers looking to experience a sophisticated summer break but keen to keep the costs involved to a minimum may wish to book cheap flights to Barcelona following the advice of one writer.
With Sian Williams, country manager for trivago UK, recently stating there were plenty of good deals on offer in Barcelona, it could be the perfect budget-break option this year.
Benji Lanyado, in an article for the Guardian, states that a tight budget should never stand in the way of going on holiday to a dream destination, but that travellers should view getting the most out of their money as a fun challenge.
In Barcelona, he recommends holidaymakers can keep the cost of eating out down, while still treating themselves, by avoiding the desert selection in restaurants and instead opting for a churro, a pastry sold by numerous outdoor vendors.
Mr Lanyado advises those booking cheap flights to Barcelona that there is plenty to do in the city for free, including visiting most of the museums on a Sunday afternoon, taking the kids on a ride on a tram to the hilltop Tibidabo amusement park or heading for one of the plazas, where "the best entertainment in the city can be found".
