British holidaymakers will not be put off going abroad because of the weakened pound, it has been claimed.
According to HiFX, although sterling has dropped in value, people from the UK will still opt for their summer trips abroad.
Marc Cogliatti, currency strategist at HiFX, commented that the pound has actually recovered during the last six months, meaning that those looking for a holiday in the sun may be better off than at the beginning of the year.
Mr Cogliatti explained the reason behind travellers' holiday choices. He said: "People are always going to be inclined to go abroad.
"Everybody likes to chase the sunshine and get away."
He added the pound being weaker is unlikely to discourage people from seeking out warmer climes during the summer.
Indeed, a survey by Wanderlust and AITO recently discovered that some 77 per cent of consumers claimed they would travel at least as much as they had done in 2008.
