More and more UK families are opting to go on holiday together, according to one expert.
Parents and children are increasingly booking inexpensive breaks, which may include cheap flights to Spain.
Kate Kenward, executive director at the Association of Independent Tour Operators explained the emerging trend.
Families have historically travelled together as a way of spending more time with one another, Ms Kenward commented, adding it is a luxury people do not seem to want to give up.
The wealth of "family-friendly" facilities and self-catering accommodation on offer makes it cheaper for them to enjoy a break together, she remarked.
"Families are … looking forward to and booking their holidays as they realise it’s impossible to put a price on the value of a relaxing break," she said.
Some 42 per cent of vacationers surveyed by HolidayExtras.com stated being with their loved ones was the best thing about going abroad.
Meanwhile, 35 per cent of people said they enjoyed exploring new destinations.
