Newlyweds might like to consider cheap flights to Paris following the comments of one expert this week.
A spokeswoman for hitched.co.uk, which offers advice and support for those about to walk down the isle, said those on a budget could opt for a shorter break after their nuptials.
Francesca Moore of the site explained that this could allow them to save up for something further afar or for a longer period of time in the following year - perhaps as a celebration of the first anniversary.
In addition, she said there were other areas that could be tailored within the overall budget in order to get that all-important trip.
"Maybe cutting back on […] invitations, opting for a smaller wedding venue, or going for a buffet over a three course meal might count towards saving for that special once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon," Ms Moore concluded.
Those taking cheap flights to Paris for such a sojourn may be interested in a top ten romantic restaurants list posted on the gayot website.
Among those mentioned was the Les Ambassadeurs eatery at the Hotel de Crillon, which boasts 25-foot high ceilings, Baccarat chandeliers and a grand ballroom.
