Jet2.com the friendly fares airline, has today (28th August 2009) announced a significant investment for the Midlands, with the launch of a brand new base at East Midlands Airport. The result is the creation of over 130,000 seats, 250 new jobs, and 7 new destinations!
From today, the airline will offer low fare flights from East Midlands Airport to Lanzarote, Corfu, Dalaman, Heraklion, Paphos, Tenerife and Sharm El Sheikh for departures from May 2010. The tourism industry within the area is also being boosted with the addition of 250 new jobs into the area within Jet2.com – all as a result of the new routes being released. These will include airport and supporting industries, and the region as a whole.
