Cheap flights to Spain may be among the many things people looking for a short break might consider, if one expert's comments are to be believed.
According to Abta - The Travel Association, a number of European cities are experiencing a boom in terms of the growing number of people who want to getaway for a few days.
Frances Tuke, spokeswoman for the group, explained destinations like France and Spain represent the perfect destination for some, but overall the short break sector was performing well across a wide range of countries.
"We've seen a growth in travel to destinations outside the eurozone and we have seen a contraction in the market for Western Europe this year but still those destinations are the most popular due to sheer volume," she added.
Her comments follow a recent study from Visa Europe which showed 34 per cent of people may consider holding off a traditional two-week mid-summer break in favour of multiple smaller trips abroad.
