Revellers looking to experience the best in world music may want to consider cheap flights to Barcelona this month.

That is because between September 23rd and 26th the city will be hosting the BAM Festival, which brings together acts from all over the globe and combines them with some of the freshest talent from the surrounding area.

Swedish alternative rockers The Hives are among the bands scheduled to make an appearance, as are US indie stars Akron/Family and Brooklyn-based electro group Dirty Projectors.

The Barcelona contingent will be represented across a host of genres including hip hop (7 notas 7 colores), jazz (Beatspoke), traditional (Calima), indie pop (CatPeople) and soul (Flavio Rodriguez).

Other local acts include Inspira, La Kinky Beat, Manel, The Unfinished Sympathy and Trash Van Traxx, while Brighton-based pop act The Go! Team will also be present on the bill.

Fans of The Hives can expect tracks from the band's four studio releases Barely Legal, Veni Vidi Vicious, Tyrannosaurus Hives and The Black and White Album.
