Britons planning to hit the slopes for a spot of skiing or snowboarding this winter have been advised to keep in mind that they will have to pay extra baggage fees for their equipment.
J Parry, writing on the online pages of Snowbrainer, said travellers should always check how much it would cost to stash their skis and snowboard before they jet off and that they should also ensure there will be space on the carrier for them.
Holidaymakers who are worried about damaging their equipment during the flight or not being able to take it with them could consider either purchasing it from the resort - which may prove expensive - or hiring it online before setting off, the resource notes.
However, by booking cheap winter flights online with Jet2.com, sports fans may find that they save the money needed to transport their own gear.
Meanwhile, Kelly Ostler-Coyle, spokesperson for the Association of British Insurers, has advised that Britons should ensure they purchase insurance before their vacation to cover the loss or breakage of expensive equipment.
