Now may be the best time for people to book winter flights, judging by the comments of one expert.
The remarks follow a survey by On the Beach which found that more than 70 per cent of UK travellers will be booking a trip abroad in 2010.
According to Alistair Daly, marketing director at the organisation, many holidaymakers will respond to the wet summer weather in the UK by choosing to visit destinations where they can expect some sunshine.
He added that "many people will travel to winter sun destinations" at the turn of next year.
Those wishing to book winter flights can decide upon a number of suitable destinations where sunny days could be a possibility – among them Tenerife, Corfu and Sardinia.
According to recent research by travelsupermarket.co.uk, almost half of travellers (44 per cent) claim they would pay at least a quarter extra to find good weather when holidaying overseas.
