Holidaymakers looking to book cheap flights to Spain could consider a package holiday for their trip.

Sean Tipton, spokesperson for ABTA – The Travel Association, suggested that all-inclusive deals have become an attractive option for many travellers.

He predicted: "All-inclusives will have another very good year."

Mr Tipton went on to say that travellers can capitalise on package deals because it gives them the freedom to plan far in advance, adding: "If you take an all-inclusive holiday, the exchange rate is largely irrelevant because people can pay up front in sterling."

Suitable destinations for those keen on an extended break in Spain could include Barcelona, with its renowned Gaudi architecture and beachside setting.

Elsewhere, anyone keen to travel further afield may enjoy a break in the historic centres of Alicante or Malaga.

Meanwhile, the recent trends report by Thomson and First Choice showed that the rate of people claiming they will consider a package holiday in 2010 has risen from ten per cent to 16 per cent.
