Travellers who are looking to make early bookings may be interested to learn that Tenerife could be a top destination in 2010.
Alistair Daly, marketing director at On the Beach, gave his opinion on the likely holiday hotspots for next year.
He said: "The Canary Islands … offer good value, with Tenerife already selling very well at On the Beach."
Mr Daly also went on to predict a good year for the Spanish mainland as a whole.
He added: "For 2010, we expect Spain to hit the top spot yet again as hoteliers and airlines compete to attract British holidaymakers."
Visitors to Tenerife could enjoy the renowned high temperatures of the island - plus volcanoes, mountainous scenery and the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
Meanwhile, recent statistics from travelsupermarket showed that typical holiday spending - excluding flights and accommodation - rose by four per cent from £301 to £302 during the last quarter.
