Travellers who book cheap flights to Spain through Jet2.com could enjoy a relaxing spa break while topping up their tan with some winter sun, if one expert is to be believed.
According to the country's tourist office, Canary Island destinations – which could include Tenerife – are perfect for a bit of pampering and relaxing.
Promotions executive Paco Gutierrez explained the health retreats often use locally sourced produce such as aloe vera and lava while giving their guests a bit of TLC.
Meanwhile, other activities popular on the islands include retail therapy, golf and sunbathing.
The representative added: "[Officials] are building four-star and five-star hotels and they are trying to go for the luxury level."
Earlier this month, the Canary Islands Tourist Board revealed 41.6 per cent of British people who step off the plane at the destination are repeat visitors.
In a popularity poll, Tenerife came out on top, followed by Lanzarote and Gran Canaria.
Three million UK tourists enjoyed a sunshine break in the region in 2008.
