Travellers who book cheap flights to Barcelona through Jet2.com could enjoy trips to the cultural hotspots discussed by one of its local officials.

Park Guell, Picasso Museum and La Pedrera could all be worth a look, according to head of foreign relations at Barcelona Turisme Maria Luisa Albacar-Fracanzani.

She named these attractions as among the five best in the city, along with Sagrada Familia and the Miro Foundation.

The representative also discussed how the destination caters for a wide range of tourists, including those who book cheap flights.

"The British are the number one tourists in Europe using low cost flights, therefore when flights are cheap the rest is really peanuts," she remarked.

Her comments follow the recent publication of a survey by OnePoll, which revealed Barcelona is the most popular holiday destination on the continent.

The researchers canvassed the opinion of 10,000 European travellers and commended its beaches, parks and architecture.
