A wealth of gastronomic options await those who book cheap flights to Tenerife through Jet2.com, if one commentator is to be believed.

Playa de las Americas is home to some great eateries, according to the Guardian's Been There contributor Linda Konradsson.

She particularly highlighted the resort's breakfast outlets, recommending Cozy Cafe for its fresh baked treats, cakes and "panoramic views over the ocean".

Cafe Hernandez, which is found adjacent to Torviscas beach, is also worth a visit as it is "full of colourful expats and friendly staff".

The joints are just two of the reasons booking cheap flights to Tenerife for a summer 2010 holiday could be a good idea.

Other draws on the island include Siam Park, which is Europe's largest water attraction and features slides such as the Tower of Power and an animal area called the Lost City.

Clubbers, meanwhile, could enjoy a drink and a dance at Tramps, one the destination's main nightspots.
