Britons who are planning to hit the ski slopes over the coming months should ensure that they have purchased the cover they need before they jet off, one sector commentator has claimed.
Kelly Ostler-Coyle, spokesperson for the Association of British Insurers, said being taken ill and needing medical treatment or breaking expensive equipment can end up being costly for holidaymakers.
She explained that the doctors and hospitals located near to ski resorts could be pricey and individuals would need to make sure they could afford any potential medical bills.
In addition, it was important skiers had the peace of mind that their winter sports equipment was covered in the event of an accident, Ms Ostler-Coyle added.
"Essentially the main thing is if you are going on skiing holidays to make sure you're covered for what you want [to do]," she concluded.
