Those who book cheap flights to Amsterdam through Jet2.com could be overwhelmed by the city's culture, if one correspondent's experiences are anything to go by.
Writing for the Daily Express, Emily Garnham recounted a trip to the Dutch destination, focusing on its interesting attractions.
The purpose of her trip was to visit the Anne Frank museum, which tells the story of the famous young diarist from the second world war.
Ms Garnham said the centre offers "harrowing insights" into the lives of the family, adding the museum allows visitors to see the space where the Frank clan hid.
The correspondent later returned to the city centre to enjoy a meal at Envy, which is a "stylish eatery" on the side of the Prinsengracht canal.
"Its dark corners make it popular with young couples but the food will satisfy any gourmand - delicate courgette cannelloni, melt-in-the mouth beef and civet jus with parsnip mousse," she wrote.
Last month, the Guardian suggested Amsterdam could be perfect for a cosy riverboat holiday.
