Cheap flights to Barcelona could be popular with honeymooning couples this year, if one expert's predictions are anything to go by.
Wedding Ideas Magazine director Rachel Southwood suggested newlyweds are looking for more from a break than just the chance to soak up some sun.
She said many are looking past a beach holiday and considering city breaks – meaning Barcelona could be the perfect solution.
The correspondent remarked: "The 'minimoon' (a short break after the wedding to save work holiday and money) is going to increase in popularity further still, and as a result people will have more to invest in their holiday of a lifetime."
She noted the trend for shorter post-wedding trips after actor Channing Tatum recently told the Press Association he and his wife Jenna Dewan decided to take a 'minimoon', with a bigger holiday to follow.
Meanwhile, the Spanish Tourism Office recently suggested Barcelona is the place to go for a bit of luxury.
Culture fans could enjoy a jaunt to the Sagrada Familia, which is Gaudi's unfinished temple.
