Travellers who book cheap flights to Amsterdam through Jet2.com should get on their bike in the Dutch city, if one correspondent's experiences are anything to go by.
Although the destination is fine for exploring on foot, cycling is far more fun, according to Simonseeks columnist Lucy Clapham.
She recounted whizzing around the area on a rented pair of wheels, passing attractions such as Anne Frank's house, the Prisengracht Canal and the Central Station.
The journalist also made a point of passing her favourite nightspots, including the Melkveg and the Paradiso, a venue that hosts clubnights and touring rock bands.
She took advantage of the city's numerous green spaces on her jaunt, passing through Vondelpark, a "beautiful" region of the south-west of the conurbation.
Ms Clapham: "As the wind whipped through my hair while I freewheeled along the pavement in glorious sunshine, it was easy to see why thousands of Amsterdammers use a bike to get around."
Last month, Daily Express journalist Emily Garnham suggested travellers should visit the Envy eatery in the city centre, explaining it is perfect for a romantic meal.
