Those who book cheap flights to Dalaman should take advantage of the range of watersports options in Turkey, if one correspondent's experiences are anything to go by.
Writing for the Times, Nicholas Roe recounted a boat trip along the coast of the country, starting in the village of Ucagiz.
Holidaying with a group of friends, he camped and kayaked during the jaunt, which took in the sights of Kekova Island and the ancient city of Dolichiste, which was shaken to its foundations by an earthquake in AD 141.
Mr Roe said the best part of his trip was avoiding other tourists and the sense of adventure that it gave him.
After docking on another island, he remarked: "It was another deliciously lazy, beautifully shabby moment full of dirty clothes and sweaty bodies and nobody caring."
He later headed back to Ucagiz, where he enjoyed a more relaxing period of sunbathing and sightseeing.
