Those who book cheap flights to Turkey can enjoy a budget family break, if one expert's comments are anything to go by.

Writing for the Daily Telegraph, Sophie Butler said the country is set to be a popular place to enjoy a summer 2010 trip.

She explained that although recent surveys have shown some goods and services have risen in price in the pan-continental nation, this does not mean travellers cannot enjoy fun in the sun on a shoestring.

The best bet is to steer clear of the main resorts such as Bodrum and Kusadasi and head to a smaller village, such as the fishing port of Yalikavak.

"[Here] you will find good beaches, less development, a more relaxed atmosphere and lower-priced restaurants and bars," Ms Butler remarked.

Energetic types could welcome a walking holiday, while others may simply enjoy soaking up the sun on one of the nation's numerous sandy beaches.

The Daily Express's Peter Cunliffe recently reported on a holiday to Turkey and said he enjoyed strolling around Fethiye harbour.

Bars and eateries offered "fantastic value for money" in the town, he added.
