A British couple are looking at booking cheap flights to Turkey to take advantage of its low prices.

Karla Brooks and her husband went without a foreign holiday last year because of financial constraints.

Speaking to the Guardian, she revealed that her only escape in 2009 was a short break in Glasgow.

However, Ms Brooks said this allowed them to save up for a trip overseas this year instead.

The couple have their eye on Turkey, as they have heard lots of positive things about the European country.

"They say Turkey is cheap and really nice," Ms Brooks commented.

She added that the country is reputed to be "somewhere where you can relax and sight-see but not be in a party town all the time".

This comes after Henry Jones of the Daily Mail hailed Turkey for offering visitors a mixture of interesting historical sites, good food and excellent weather.
