Holidaymakers could save money if they book cheap flights to Egypt this year.
According to Tom Hall, the editor of travel guide Lonely Planet, travellers can enjoy a number of benefits if they venture beyond the eurozone.
For example, he said countries such as Egypt offer lower prices than many traditional European destinations.
"There's no denying you can save more money by going outside the eurozone," he commented.
Speaking to the Guardian, Mr Hall also noted that tourists may enjoy the "thrill of discovering new places" if they travel to non-European shores.
Meanwhile, Abta - The Travel Association has noted that holidaymakers from the UK are becoming increasingly adventurous when it comes to booking trips overseas.
Spokeswoman Frances Tuke said British tourists want "a little bit more" from their holidays than just lying on a beach.
Indeed, she noted that people are becoming much more "demanding" when they head abroad.
