A greater number of Britons have found the potential of buying property abroad tempting due to the availability of cheap flights, the Independent reports.
Writing for the publication, Laura Latham notes that low-cost airlines serving France and Italy have seen more holiday homes being bought in the regions.
But cheap flights to Paris and Pisa are not the only budget trips to have emerged over recent years, as she points out.
"Investors were encouraged to sink funds into the Caribbean and Florida or obscure corners of France and Italy on the back of cheap and plentiful air travel," Ms Latham writes.
She adds that the emergence of new flight routes have each allowed a "previously unknown or unaffordable destination" to become a potential site for a new holiday home.
Aeroports de Paris advises travellers looking to take pets on cheap flights to Paris that they may typically do so, providing the animal weighs less than 5 kg.
